Atlas for Breaking Media · Above the Law

Production has started.

Here is the first work on the three briefs from Jeremy's Oct 9 email. Everything below is a first draft, made so you can react to a real look and feel before we commit to the full run.

Super!Intelligence WeekThe Top 5How Not to Get Hired
Brief 1 · Recurring, every Friday

Super!Intelligence Week

The weekly roundup, hosted by a Judge and a Counsel. Same Bones style stick figures, a banner, and a short dramatization for each story. This draft has the opener and the Kirkland story. The template is built to be re-run each Friday.

Kirkland passes $10 billion
...then draws the curtain on the rankings
The junior associate and the $10M question
Quality over quantity, says the firm with the most quantity
Brief 2 · Six-episode melodrama

The Top 5

The law school rankings told as a romantic melodrama. Each top school is a mascot character, and each episode covers one year of rank changes. This teaser covers the latest move, from Above the Law's own 2026 Top 50: Chicago rises to No. 1, Duke slips to No. 2, and Yale climbs.

No. 1 Chicago Phoenix
No. 2 Duke Blue Devil
No. 3 Virginia Cavalier
No. 4 Penn Quaker
No. 5 Yale, Handsome Dan

The mascots are our own illustrations, not official school art. Before anything publishes, your legal reviewer should check them. Harvard is not in the 2026 Top 5, so it appears only if a past year puts it there.

Brief 3 · Animated storyboard

How Not to Get Hired

A guide for summer associates, drawn as composite characters so no real associate is depicted. These four frames come straight from the stories in the brief.

The toddler impression
The horse carriage
The firm that wasn't full of attorneys
The summer outing
What happens now
